Who's music is this?
Mine
@@Arc.hitectureMusic it's good you have any released?
Hello Architecture, Do you know if the 888/24 will work on a Nubus system running Pro Tools 4.2 or 4.3? The reason I'm asking is because 4.2 was the last version to officially support Nubus, and was also the first version to support the 888/24. Apparently, PT 4.3 can be used with Nubus system, using a modified DAE file and a G3 accelerator. A cohort of people told me the 888/24 wouldn't work at all; others said it would. On the subject of 442 cards: Do you know if the TDM piggybacks from the disk I/O cards can be used on the 442 cards? I've been collecting a lot of Nubus PT stuff but I'm about to move and that's why I've not set it all up yet. Do you know if Sample Cell I and II cards can be used concurrently in a Nubus chassis? Would you know where to locate a copy of the original SC editor from 1991? I have two of the originals that I've not tested yet. I hope that I'll be able to use the cards and that they won't be useless. Also, I've heard that the original Sample Cells needed to use a modified daughter board in order to be used in Quadra machines, not sure if that's true. You have an awesome channel. Sorry for the deluge of questions. (I figured you might be able to answer some of them, if anyone can.) :)
Lots of good questions. I have more questions than answers about this system as well. Would love to find an answer to these questions.
Oldschool sound. Thumbs up man! Here from the Mac forums.
I’m transported to 1985
12 years later, this jam still hits me hard! Great stuff.
akai s3200 works with scsi on the mac? i was always hoping to use MESA but seems to only be for the XL models. I subbed. This is a really insightful video.
Could easily make a whole video on this topic. If you have a 68k, earlier PPC with built in SCSI, or a Power Domain 2930 Mac card, those will work with the non XL samplers if you use a version of MESA II with the older SCSI plug.
more turbosynth!
Will do my best. So many possibilities with that program
The 95' style m a s s i v e ! 🔥
This is amazing, this should be released as a track!
I really like your productions!
This is why people say Macs are better for media. Back in the day they did things which were pretty much impossible on the DOS/Windows machines of the time. Very cool demo! It reminds me a bit of the Home Improvement theme song.
@@DOSStorm considering this is 1991 technology is what makes all of this unreal. This platform would later allow for up to 16 channels of multitracking ability. I have more cards coming, should be able to do 16 channels once I have all the parts.
Why do you torture your self with all that noise?
do you have an sp1200 image available by any chance?
Old gears produced Fat sound👌 saturation is the life of music👌
J'adore tes sons sont super😁. Hello from france 👋👋
loving the sound of the tape, wow! Sounds so classic!!
so epic man, what an achievement!! Would love a video on that bass. So cool man, damn! I had to turn on my speakers for this and it was good that I did!
Very cool. Making me want to get an old mac and try this out!
"Hold on bro, use that iso booth, otherwise you won't hear the vocal over the jet engines" lol. Sick rig.
Nice setup. It's a shame you can't hear the Mac chime.
Mr. Fingers 2024). Yes, it's Chicago house, but your track reminded me of it and it seems similar in spirit to me.
Nice smooth easy oldschool vibes!
But can it acid?
@@johnlamb7643 I’m sure it could.
i just subbed gonna check out your bandcamp....major question for you man - the direct to disk recording on akai s3200 - how would you get that off of the disk? I use scsi2sd but its not 6.0 vers so even though i formatted partitions on mac i still cannot grab my sounds or stuff direct to disk recorded off of the sd card in the akai! Any tips? I also have zuluscsi if that helps.
I just re-record it to my computer of choice for archiving
Sick dog good job
Awesomeness
Lovely!
Sounds like authentic 90s Trance 👍
That's a super cool setup man, congrats! Neat to see it running on the Mac. Interesting it doesn't require a ton of RAM
Impressive! I did not expect that quality! Wow!
good stuff, i find even a m1 mac mini is overkill for music production
So awesome man. I have a Digidesign 882 with no power supply, hoping to eventually fill out the setup around it
awesome!! 🎉
man you a master on legacy systems, that IBM PC you got behind you shows computer experience. also demonstrates how these systems continue to be a great way to make music although the industry forces to move towards modern solutions. you make killer music also, cheers from chile
Is this song about GAS?😂
@@20thingsgoing62 subconsciously yes
I had this exact system. My control room sounded like i was in a plane all day with all the fans running, but the system was rock solid and is still the most solid system I've worked on to date.
Beautiful setup
we are so spoiled with boot times these days
I once had a mix cube. I never liked pro tools 5, version 6 is more convenient and nice looking, but requires OSX, a powerful processor and a video card. I even converted a GeForce 5200 from a Mac G5 to a G4, for smoother rendering and a dvi interface.
@@GeneralDead1978might be why I prefer using Logic 6.4 as a front end for my TDM rig.
@@Arc.hitectureMusic yes, the Logic TDM is much more convenient, especially when it comes to MIDI. But I didn't have it(.
Awesome setup!
Happy to see an upload like this 😊🎉 thanks for sharing!
Very cool setup. Sounds like a sever room. Must get pretty toasty in there with all that nice gear.
Awesome project! Crazy how far music technology has come
*TDM was a complete waste of money, RTAS was a complete waste of money, THE NATIVE VERSION is where they should have been what back in 2001 and even the native version is a WASTE OF MONEY! Only to be outdone for the worst audio engine award by STUDIO ONE. WOW, all of the sucker saps that got took for DONALDTRUMPLOTTO for digidesign/avid/waves/crap and don't even let me get started on APPLE.*
Insane project. Well done.
Kaleidoscope Angel! I remember that session lol
Nice setup! Have you considered an SSD boot drive for the MDD? I ran a Sonnet PCI Sata card and an SSD for quicker start up
@@trakliteproductions I have multiple SATA solutions for PPC Mac. The problem isn’t speed, it’s bus mastering that more important. I have no bandwidth control over SATA or IDE. ATTO SCSI cards have a digital audio mode that throttles the speed to 20MB/s, which leaves headroom for the 10 expansion cards in the chassis
You've outdone yourself brother. Excellent stuff. Really cool
craazyyyyy setuppppppp
1:29 oh lala the time stretched goodness 🥲❤
